Pacific Palisades Fires: Correcting Misinformation about LADWP’s Water System

Update: Los Angeles Rainstorm Power Outages 8 a.m. Monday Feb 20

Crews are working to restore power to remaining 1,500 customers affected by Fri/Sat Storm

LOS ANGELES (February 20, 2017) – LADWP utility crews continue to work to restore service to 1,500 customers who have experienced extended service outages of over 24 hours due to the extensive damage caused by Friday and Saturday’s rain and wind storm. Over 84,000 customers have had power restored since the peak of the storm late Friday afternoon.

Crews will work throughout the day to restore service to all affected customers. LADWP Customer Service representatives will continue to call customers who are single households out in neighborhoods, to confirm with the customer that power is still out and in some cases, help customers troubleshoot breaker switches in neighborhoods where power has been restored, but a problem remains at an individual home.

We appreciate our customers’ patience as crews have worked around the clock through dangerous and difficult conditions to restore power to all customers who lost service.

The forecast is for more rain, so LADWP urges all customers to use caution around downed or dangling power lines or poles. If you see a downed wire, always assume it is LIVE and immediately dial 9-1-1. Never touch a downed power line or anything that’s touching a downed power line — including water.
