WHAT:
Annually, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) co-hosts an Open House at the Chatsworth Nature Preserve in partnership with the Santa Susana Mountain Park Association, Sky Valley Volunteers and the Herp Connection.
This family-friendly event held at the City of Los Angeles’ only nature preserve will feature a traditional Native American Blessing, guided nature hikes, live animal exhibits, community resource fair, storytelling, music, face painting and food trucks. LADWP will also have a recruiting booth, an electric safety booth, and an informational booth where attendees can learn more about how they can conserve water and receive free giveaways.

VISUALS:
Community members participating in guided nature hikes and enjoying the local flora and fauna and 100+ year old oak trees amidst the beauty of the Chatsworth Nature Preserve and vernal pool. The preserve is a regional draw for migratory and native bird species. There will also be a Traditional Native American Blessing at the event start, as well as live animal exhibits, storytelling, and face painting.
