| LOS ANGELES — At approximately 11:20 this morning an LADWP power system crew member working on overhead power lines in the 17000 block of Rancho Street in Encino made contact with electrical wires carrying 4,800 volts of electricity. According to initial accounts he was rescued by co-workers and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene rendering aid. The injured worker has been transported to an area hospital.
We have no further details at this time and will provide updates as the situation warrants. We ask for prayers for our injured crew member this afternoon. There is a small power outage related to this incident affecting 460 customers. It is estimated that power will be restored within 2-3 hours. ###
