LOS ANGELES — With temperatures rising today in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) urges customers to reduce their energy use on Thursday.
The energy demand reached 5268 megawatts today and is expected to reach up to 5600 megawatts tomorrow with highs exceeding 100 degrees in the San Fernando Valley. “Any time energy demand exceeds this level we need to begin conserving wherever possible, while not jeopardizing anyone’s health or safety,” said Raman Raj, LADWP Chief Operating Officer. “Saving power not only conserves energy but also reduces the possibility of strain on power system infrastructure,” Mr. Raj said.
