LOS ANGELES — Strong winds and heavy gusts last night caused power outages in several Los Angeles neighborhoods. Approximately 13,400 of 1.4 million Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) electric customers are without power as of 5:00 am this morning. Since last night, LADWP crews worked throughout the night and have already restored power to more than 24,700 customers. At this hour, the following communities are most impacted:

METRO AREA
* Hollywood: 3,664
* Crenshaw: 2,265                                                                                                                                                                                                          * Sawtelle: 651
* Mar Vista: 1,757

VALLEY
* Northridge: 1,476

LADWP crews continue to work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Further updates will be posted online at www.ladwpnews.com.  The next outage update will be posted at approximately 9:00 am.
