Pacific Palisades Fires: Correcting Misinformation about LADWP’s Water System

Power Outage at Dodger Stadium Tonight

July 30, 2018

At approximately 7:44 p.m. tonight, equipment supplying power to Dodger stadium experienced a brief interruption, causing a power outage that lasted approximately 20 minutes.  Dodger Stadium has a dual power supply of 34,500 volts, and is fed from two separate circuits.  When one circuit experiences a disruption, as occurred tonight, an automated switch engages and reroutes power. Based on initial information, this automated switch functioned correctly this evening, allowing power to be restored to the stadium and high intensity lights and other equipment powered back on.

LADWP crews are on scene and will investigate the cause of the outage.  They will make repairs as needed after the conclusion of tonight’s game and will coordinate closely with stadium personnel.
