Los Angeles, CA (March 2, 2024)— Exhibiting an exceptional grasp of advanced science, math, and technology concepts, a team from North Hollywood High School emerged victorious at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Science Bowl XXXII Regional Competition held today in downtown Los Angeles.

Van Nuys High School Team A won first place in the hands-on competition in which teams assembled and launched “rocket cars,” receiving the Franklin Lu Memorial Trophy, named for the late LADWP electrical engineer who was instrumental in starting this portion of the program. Each member of the winning team received a $750 LADWP Scholarship.
