LADWP La Brea Trunk Line Leak

August 28, 2025

LOS ANGELES (AUGUST 28, 2025)–LADWP water system crews are working to shut down a 67-inch water trunkline on La Brea Avenue that was struck by a crew at approximately 2:40 p.m. this afternoon while installing shoring beams as part of an infrastructure repair project.

All southbound lanes on La Brea Avenue are currently closed from Coliseum Street to Stocker Street. Northbound lanes have been reopened. LADWP crews are working as quickly as possible to safely shut down the flow of water and minimize impacts to the street and surrounding properties. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area until further notice.

At this time, water service to customers in the area remains active.
