LADWP Crews Working To Restore Power Outages During Heavy Winds

LOS ANGELES —The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) reports approximately 16,300 of LADWP’s 1.4 million electric customers are experiencing power service interruptions as heavy winds have caused 164 outages in several neighborhoods across the city. The wind storms typically result in power outages as dried palm fronds, tree branches, downed trees and other debris fall and make contact with power lines. LADWP crews are working as diligently and as safely as possible under these heavy wind conditions to restore power to customers affected.

The following communities have the most number of customers impacted:

• Exposition Park    1427 customers affected
• East Hollywood    2123
• Mid-Wilshire   642
• Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw   1916
• Northridge   3542
• Canoga Park   401
• North Hollywood   497
• Sylmar   817
• Panorama City   751
• Faircrest Heights   1370
