LADWP staff and contract crews will begin work in the next few days in the Pacific Palisades area to clean dust and fire debris from all LADWP water meter boxes. Crews in safety gear will be accessing water meter boxes located near the sidewalk or curb of each property and performing necessary cleanup work. This activity is currently estimated to take 6-8 weeks. We are sharing this information to explain the nature of the work that will occur in meter boxes at both destroyed and remaining properties, which must occur before water meters can be read by our field crews.
Residents can be assured that water meter repairs and meter box cleaning will not affect the quality of the water provided by LADWP. The water meter boxes and meters are self-contained, ensuring your water remains safe to drink.
