WHAT:
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is co-hosting a Spring Equinox celebration at the Chatsworth Nature Preserve in partnership with the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, Santa Susana Mountain Park Association, Sky Valley Volunteers, and the Herp Connection.
This family-friendly event is open to the public and will be held at the City of Los Angeles’ only nature preserve. The event will include a Traditional Native American Blessing led by the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, guided nature hikes, live animal exhibits, storytelling, music, face painting, educational booths, and a bird observation station
LADWP will also host booths highlighting career opportunities, electric safety, and water conservation tips, plus free giveaways for attendees (while supplies last).

VISUALS:
Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in guided nature walks, exploring the rich landscape of the Chatsworth Nature Preserve- home to century-old oak trees, a community garden, a seasonal vernal pool, and variety of native and migratory bird species. The event will open with a Traditional Native American Blessing and feature live animal exhibits, music, and storytelling, creating a meaningful experience for everyone.
