First of Two TV Programs on the 2015 LADWP Science Bowl Begins Airing

LOS ANGELES — The first of two TV programs showcasing the talents, hard work and knowledge of the city’s brightest high school students will be broadcast beginning today (March 23rd). Both programs will also be available on LADWP’s YouTube channel. The first show, an hour-long program, “The 2015 LADWP Science Bowl Finals,” provides complete coverage of the semi-final and final matches between Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School and North Hollywood High School’s two teams. These two matches determine the Regional Champion. This winning team will represent Los Angeles at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science National Science Bowl. The second TV show, “The 2015 LADWP Science Bowl Documentary,” is a half-hour program that follows four teams preparing for and competing at the LADWP Science Bowl. The four teams are Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies(LACES), Palisades Charter High School, Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School and North Hollywood High School. The finals program will first air on the LADWP YouTube Channel and on LA CityView Ch. 35 beginning today Monday, March 23rd and on KLCS Ch. 58 on April 5. The documentary show will air on these two outlets beginning on Wednesday April 8 and on KLCS Ch. 58 on April 19.

The LADWP Science Bowl is one of 69 high school regional competitions in 40 states that participate in the National Science Bowl Program. This regional competition covers the Los Angeles Unified School District boundaries but includes charter, private and parochial schools in addition to those that are LAUSD schools.The winning team will participate at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. April 30 to May 4. | |
