The Normal, Illinois Fire Department posted to their Facebook Page an outline of the Palisades fire’s damage area, scaled over a map of Normal, Illinois to put into perspective just how devastating these fires have been to California. The estimate of the Palisades fire on January 10th, shows over 31.2 square miles completely destroyed. That is approximately 2.4 times the size of Normal, Illinois.
