Pacific Palisades Fires: Correcting Misinformation about LADWP’s Water System

A Special Message from LADWP Regarding Immigration Enforcement & Customer Privacy

July 8, 2025

LADWP is Here to Help & Your Personal Information is Safe with Us.

At LADWP we know these are very difficult and uncertain times for many of our customers, especially for members of our immigrant communities.  We want to assure all customers that LADWP is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your confidential account information stays secure. We do not collect information on customer immigration status, and will never share your private customer information with public agencies like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the Department of Homeland Security. The only exception is if a judicial warrant or judicial subpoena signed by a judge directs us to do so. Our mission is to improve the everyday lives of all Angelenos. We do not participate in immigration enforcement actions, and we protect the privacy of all our customers, regardless of background or immigration status.

We are from L.A. and we are here for ALL Angelenos.

LADWP is here to help. If you have not been able to work; if you cannot visit one of our Customer Service Centers to pay your bill in person; or if your business was impacted financially by immigration enforcement, financial assistance programs are available. Please call us at (800) DIAL-DWP / (800) 342-5397 for payment plans or arrangements, so we can help you find a solution.

LADWP’s convenient payment plans are also available online.  To access your account online, visit LADWP.com where you can ask for a payment extension or sign up for Level Pay, a convenient program that helps customers pay a steady bill amount monthly. If you have not set up an online account with us, you’ll need your account number and four-digit access code to get started. Call us if you need help with your access code.

We want to help make this a more manageable time for anyone thinking about their utility bill when they are worrying about their families, their lives, and their well-being.

You should always feel confident dealing with LADWP.

There have been recent reports that immigrations personnel in areas outside of California may have impersonated utility workers to gain access to private property. LADWP team members and our contracted partners always carry photo identification. Look for our logo on our employees’ uniforms, equipment and vehicles. Ask to see identification if someone says that they represent LADWP. If in doubt, feel free to call us to verify the identity of our employees, at (800) DIAL-DWP / (800) 342-5397.

LADWP never calls customers threatening to turn off water and power service over the phone. If you receive a call like this, hang up, and call us to ask about your account.
