Utility line workers from the Western United States will gather for the 2025 Los Angeles Lineman’s Rodeo. This annual skills competition showcases the knowledge, athleticism and commitment to safety that line workers demonstrate everyday to ensure that reliable power is provided to the city’s 4 million residents.
Hosted each year by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and IBEW Local 18, the Lineman’s Rodeo is a family-friendly event in which journeymen and apprentice line worker teams compete in challenging obstacles designed to test training, job skills and safety procedures, all while following detailed instructions and adhering to time limits. The event is also an opportunity to promote rewarding careers in the electric industry.
Winners of the competition’s various events will advance to the International Lineman’s Rodeo in Overland Park, KS this October.
