WATER SERVICE RESTORED TO CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY HARTSOOK STREET WATER MAIN BREAK

LOS ANGELES- The 40 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) customers who were without water in the Valley Village area of the San Fernando Valley as a result of the 6-inch main break that occurred this morning in a one-block section of Hartsook Street have been restored to service as of 8:30 PM today.  There were no impacts to water quality as a result of the Hartsook Street main break.

Work by LADWP crews to fill the blowout hole on the residential street will resume Wednesday morning and will be followed by the Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Street Services, which will begin repairs on the street where the blowout occurred.

Currently it is not possible to estimate when street repair work will be complete and Hartsook Street will be reopened.

The media and public will be updated as a better estimate of completion becomes available.
