SOUTH LA POWER OUTAGE

| LOS ANGELES — Earlier today, at approximately 7:30AM, electrical equipment at a local distributing station that serves portions of South Los Angeles failed. Despite efforts by LADWP crews to make repairs quickly, the equipment remains out of service. The equipment failure, coupled with high heat and related high energy demand in the area, has resulted in an “overloaded” condition at the local distributing station and has led to power outages that are expected to intermittently affect customers in the area between now and 10 pm tonight. Currently, 6,800 customers are without power.
Crews are doing all they can to repair the affected equipment and will continue working around the clock to make the needed repairs to return this equipment to service as quickly as possible.
