LADWP UPDATE #2

POWER SUPPLY TO CITY RESTORED

LOS ANGELES – The rotating power outages begun within the last 45 minutes have have ceased.  Though impacted, power supply through the I 5 corridor has been restored to a level to meet the current energy demand in the City.  The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in  began rotating power outages to part of the City today at approximately 10 AM due to a loss of power imported through high-voltage transmission lines running along the I 5 corridor that are currently impacted by the Sayre Fire.

Areas that experienced rotating outages including part of Mid-City, Crenshaw and Harbor Gateway should see their power returning to normal.

Due to these developments, the LADWP urges all residents to take every effort possible to reduce their energy demand immediately and all day Saturday. Residents are urged to avoid using all major appliances, including air conditioners as long as doing so does not compromise their or their family members health or safety.
