LADWP Restores Power to 12 Downtown Buildings

| LOS ANGELES — After working overnight and throughout the morning, LADWP crews have restored power to the 12 buildings impacted by the explosion and fire at 811 Wilshire Blvd. that occurred last night at 10:17 p.m.
Power at 811 Wilshire remains out as crews continue to mitigate any hazards and assess the damage to the building’s on-site industrial power station, which provides power to the building. LADWP is working with the customer and investigating options for providing this customer with temporary power until permanent repairs can be made. The cause of the explosion and subsequent power outage remains under investigation. Inspections so far have indicated extensive damage to LADWP’s on-site industrial power station.
