LADWP Crews Restore Service to 35,500 Following Storm

Rain and Windstorm Outage Update (9:30 p.m.)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

LOS ANGELES — As of 9:30 pm, LADWP has restored service to more than 35,500 of its 1.4 million electric customers who were without power as a result of the strong rain and wind storm moving through the Los Angeles area. Some 21,000 customers remain without power. Today’s rains and wind caused multiple outages as a result of downed power lines. Some of the most frequent causes of power outages during strong storms are severely dried out palm fronds, tree branches and other debris fall and make contact or sever power lines. LADWP crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible and will work around the clock until all affected customers have their power restored.
