Pacific Palisades Fires: Correcting Misinformation about LADWP’s Water System

April 9, 2021, 2PM Update: Studio City and Hollywood Hills Power Outage

April 9, 2021

LOS ANGELES (April 9, 2021) –Our crews continue to work on the outage affecting residents in parts of Studio City and Hollywood Hills. After digging up and removing two broken poles caused by Thursday’s vehicle accident, they are currently installing two new steel poles before moving on to installing conductors/power lines.

The severely damaged poles were also connected to underground equipment which will also need extensive repairs.

We have dedicated crews working on these repairs and they are working as quickly as possible. They will continue their work around the clock.

However, due to the substantial damage to our equipment and the complex repair work involved, the repairs will take additional time. The best estimate we can provide at this time is that repairs will most likely be completed at some point on Saturday; however, repairs and restoration of service for some affected customers could extend to Sunday, depending on how the repair work progresses.

Due to the hillside location of this work, there is unfortunately no way to provide power to affected customers through other circuits.

LADWP crews work to remove the broken stump of a power pole. The broken pole is temporarily supported while they remove the stump of the pole.

We understand this is a significant inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

We will continue to provide updates as we receive information from the field.

Traffic Alert: Until all repairs are completed, Mulholland Drive remains closed between the driveway to Laurel Canyon Dog Park to Laurel Pass Ave.
