FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Approximately 12,000 customers had their power restored while approximately 17,022 out of LADWP's total 1.4 million electric customers were without power as of 5:00 p.m. today as the season’s first storm brought rain and gusty winds, causing outages in several neighborhoods. 

The following communities had the most number of customers impacted:

  • South Los Angeles: 9,150
  • Hyde Park: 4,718
  • Mid-City: 791
  • Westchester: 779
     

Outages were also reported in Panorama City, Los Feliz, South-East Los Angeles, Mt. Olympus, and Hollywood.

Currently, 39 crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

In response to current weather conditions, LADWP has increased its response level to 2 at 11:20 a.m. to increase the number of power restoration crews and resources to restore power to all customers as quickly and safely as possible.
