The LADWP Science Bowl is a quiz show-style high school science competition featuring complex college-level math, science and technology questions. This year, Science Bowl enters its 17th year of testing the city's sharpest students from all backgrounds and areas of the city who share a love of science. This year's competing teams will vie for a combined $25,000 in college scholarship money to students and prizes to their respective high schools. The winning team will travel to Washington, D.C. to represent the city and the regional competition at the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl, where LADWP regional championship teams have among the best records, having won four national titles and additional trophies in nine out of the last 13 years. A proud LADWP tradition and excellent example of the Department's commitment to the Los Angeles educational community, the Science Bowl competition offers positive visuals of the city's youth having fun while preparing themselves for higher education and brighter futures. |
