BACKGROUND: Green Path North Project (GPNP) is a proposed new electrical transmission designed to connect to world-class geothermal renewable energy in the Imperial Valley. Multiple routes and technologies are being considered and will be subject to a formal environmental review. During the meeting, representatives of LADWP, IID and members of SCPPA, including the municipal utilities of Burbank, Pasadena, Glendale and Riverside, will provide a brief presentation about the GPNP and then be available to answer questions.

By tapping into clean, renewable resources such as geothermal and solar power, GPNP will significantly help reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with global warming and help meet State of California greenhouse gas regulations. The community meeting is being held prior to formal public scoping meetings that are required as part of the environmental review process, which has not yet begun.
