POWER OUTAGE UPDATE
As of 8:00 p.m.


Approximately 8,300 North Hollywood customers had their power restored as a result of the determination and hard work of LADWP electrical line crews. Currently, 10,000 customers in the San Fernando Valley area remain without power as a result of extreme heat and high customer demand. 

The following communities are experiencing the most number of power outages:

Reseda/Northridge: 3,300

North Hollywood: 1,200

Sylmar: 2,800

Toluca Lake: 1,600

Neighborhood outages have also been reported in Canoga Park, Encino, Granada Hills, Sunland, Sherman Oaks, and North Hills.

LADWP crews will work throughout the night to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Today, the energy load peaked at 6053 megawatts at 3:13 p.m.  The all-time record peak load is 6165 megawatts, which occured July 24, 2006.
