POWER OUTAGE UPDATE
As of 4:45 p.m.

Approximately, 11,500 customers were without power as of 4:45 p.m. this afternoon as energy usage soared to a near-record high. 

The following communities experienced the most number of power outages:

Reseda/Northridge: 1,337
Van Nuys:  1,687
North Hollywood: 8,199

Outages were also reported in Encino, Granada Hills, Sunland Sherman Oaks, and North Hills.

 Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

Today the energy load peaked at 6053 megawatts at 3:13 p.m. The all-time record peak load is 6165 megawatts, which occurred July 24, 2006.
