WINTER STORM OUTAGE UPDATE FOR FRIDAY, JAN. 4, 2008 6:45 P.M.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has been poised and ready to respond to any power outages associated with the series of winter storms pounding the region.

Currently, outages are minimal with approximately 3,400 customers being affected by power outages out of the utility's 1.4 million electric customers.

There are circuit outages affecting the following areas:

Cheviot Hills          571
Brentwood`             17
Knollwood            578
Eagle Rock            66
Park LaBrea         654
Belair Estates      332
Panorama City     179
Arleta                  293 

These outages are due predominately to wires down due to inclement weather.

The LADWP has crews in the field working around the clock to restore power, as quickly and safely as possible.
