11 PM WINDSTORM OUTAGE UPDATE
Thursday, December 27, 2007
LADWP crews have restored power for more than 20,200 customers since a fierce cold windstorm hit Los Angeles last night and today. As of 11 p.m. about 300 customers were without power, including 100 customers in the Hollywood Hills. Crews have been working all day in this area, in steep terrain, to replace downed wires.
Power has been restored to the majority of these customers; however the remaining customers may not have their power restored until sometime on Friday. Other wind-related outages are scattered in areas such as Hollywood, Koreatown, and other neighborhoods. We expect to restore their power later this evening.
The LADWP serves 1.4 million electric customers within the City of Los Angeles.
