Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) electric crews are working to restore power to about 19,000 customers tonight, concentrated in the areas of Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, and North Hollywood in the San Fernando Valley, and Hollywood, South Los Angeles, and Koreatown in Metro area. Localized neighborhood outages also are occurring in Granada Hills, Northridge and Sylmar.
Most of the outages began about 7 p.m. are caused by wind related problems, including downed power lines and tree branches blowing into wires. Crews will be working throughout the night to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. LADWP serves 1.4 million electric customers within the City of Los Angeles.
