OUTAGE UPDATE AS OF 11 AM

Highlights:

  • Total # of customers affected by outages as of 11 AM today: Approx 12,725  This means about 17,275 customers have had their power restored since noon yesterday, when DWP reported close to 30,000 customers affected by outages. 
    Cooler temperatures last night and today will help our restoration efforts today.
    5,086 customers remain affected by 102 small outages scattered across Valley and Metro;    
  • We have more than 90 crews in the field, including DWP electric trouble crews, district crews, transmission crews, an Owens Valley crew, and private crews who were called in to assist in restoration efforts.   
  • Crews are now working their 7th straight day on 16-hour shifts.

Circuit Outages
Curret circuit outages:

Monterey Hills, affecting 1,477customers
Hollywood, affecting 330 customers
West Hills affecting 269 customers

There have been two new circuit outages in Monterey Hills and Hollywood since 7:15 AM. Circuit outages were restored yesterday in Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks, Sylmar, Hollywood and Chinatown.

 Partial Circuit Outages:
Widespread outages in neighborhoods in Metro and Valley:
Metro - 7  partial outages: 4517 customers
Valley - 1 partial outages: 666 customers
TOTAL: 8 partial outages: 5183 customers

Partial circuit outage neighborhoods include: East Los Angeles (14), Hollywood (1800), Los Feliz (845), Park La Brea (1400).
Partial circuit outages were restored last night in Pacoima, Brentwood, Studio City, Bel Air, Mid-City, and Eagle Rock   

Metro Neighborhood Outages (small localized): 93 localized outages affecting 4906 customers 

Valley Neighborhood outages: 9 localized outages affecting 180 customers

Neighborhood outages total: 102 affecting approx 5086 customers 

POWER DEMAND 

Due to cooler temperatures, today's power demand should be back to normal--4897 MW; more than 800 MW lower than Monday's peak demand of 5737 MW
Yesterday's peak energy demand was 5938 MW at 2:58 PM
The LADWP has experienced 5 straight days of record setting demand; while yesterday was not another record-setting peak, demand was still extremely high.
Customers are urged to continue to conserve power

RESTORATION TIMES
Customers without power may experience outages lasting from 24 to 48 hours.
